Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Stamport lets you collect digital stamps, create photo-based stamps, and keep them in a digital passport. This Privacy Policy explains how the iOS and Android apps and related services handle information when you create an account, use the camera or photo library, add location details to a stamp, use your digital passport, or contact support.

This policy applies to the Stamport app and related services. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to info@stamport.com.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use Stamport, we may process:

• Account details such as your email address, Firebase user ID, chosen username, optional display name, sign-in provider, email verification status, account timestamps, and optional profile picture. Google or Apple may supply your email address, display name, and profile picture when you use its sign-in option.
• Digital passport content including the stamps you collect or create, passport pages, selected covers, unlocks, and related settings. This information is stored in Google Cloud Firestore and Firebase Storage so it remains available across your devices.
• Photos and camera data when you take a photo, choose one from your library, save an image or video, or select a profile picture. When you create a generated stamp, Stamport uploads the finished stamp image, the reveal data needed to display it, and the metadata shown with the stamp. The source photo is cached on your device.
• Photo metadata such as capture time and GPS coordinates embedded in a photo imported from your library. Stamport may use this information to prepare a generated stamp. Embedded EXIF metadata is removed from the prepared image before upload, while the location and capture-time details selected for the stamp are stored separately as stamp metadata.
• Location information when you grant permission and prepare a generated stamp. Stamport may use your current coordinates, or coordinates from an imported photo, to create a place label and add location information to the stamp. You can choose precise, approximate, or country-only information before posting. Stamport does not collect location continuously or keep a separate location history.
• Usage and analytics data through Firebase Analytics. This includes interactions such as collecting or creating a stamp, taking or saving a photo, and starting or completing a story export. Some events include a stamp ID, the action's source, or whether an export included a photo. Firebase may also receive app, device, and app-instance information supplied by its SDK.
• Data stored on your device including preferences, cached images and reveal media, and unfinished generated stamps. This helps Stamport resume uploads and load your digital passport faster.
• Support communications including the email address, message, and attachments you choose to send to info@stamport.com.
• Username safety checks used to check whether a username is allowed and available.

3. How We Use Information

The information above allows us to:

• Create and secure your account, verify your email address, and provide password-reset messages.
• Save and sync your digital passport through Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Firebase Storage.
• Create, display, save, and share generated stamps and stories.
• Create place labels and location details for generated stamps when you choose to use location.
• Check that usernames are allowed and available.
• Protect accounts and Stamport from misuse or unauthorized access.
• Understand whether features work, diagnose failed actions, and improve Stamport.
• Respond to messages sent to support.

Where European data-protection law applies, account and digital passport data is processed to provide the service you request. Optional device features use data after you choose the feature and grant the relevant permission. Security, service reliability, and limited product analytics are used for our legitimate interests in protecting, maintaining, and improving Stamport.

4. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell or rent your personal information and do not use it for third-party advertising. Information is shared only as described below:

• Google Firebase: provides authentication, database storage, file storage, cloud image processing, and analytics.
• Google and Apple: process information when you choose the corresponding sign-in option.
• Your device platform's location service: may receive coordinates to convert them into a place name when a generated stamp is prepared.
• Apps you select: receive an exported image or video when you use the system share sheet.
• Legal and safety disclosures: we may disclose information when required by law, court order, or legal process, or when necessary to protect the rights and security of Stamport, its users, or others.

Service providers are required to protect personal information in line with their agreements with Stamport and applicable data-protection requirements.

5. Device Permissions & Controls

You can manage permissions in your device settings. Some features may not work when a permission is disabled:

• Location: used when preparing location details for a generated stamp. Without it, Stamport cannot add your current location to the stamp.
• Camera: used to take photos in Stamport.
• Photos/Media: used when you choose a photo, select a profile picture, or save an image or video. You can also turn automatic saving of original camera photos on or off in Stamport's settings.

6. Data Retention

Account details, digital passport content, uploaded profile pictures, generated stamps, and their metadata are kept while your account exists. Deleting your account from Settings deletes your Firebase account, user records, uploaded profile pictures, generated-stamp files, and Stamport's local pending-stamp and media caches.

Firebase Analytics data is kept according to Stamport's Google Analytics retention settings and may remain in aggregated reports. Support emails are kept only as long as needed to handle the request and maintain a support record. Account deletion cannot remove copies you previously saved or shared outside Stamport.

7. Your Choices & Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to the processing of, or request a copy of your personal data. You may also have the right to withdraw consent and complain to your local data-protection authority. You can:

• Change your email address, username, or profile picture in the app.
• Control camera, photo-library, and location access in your device settings.
• Choose the location precision attached to a generated stamp.
• Turn automatic saving of original camera photos on or off.
• Delete your account through Settings → Delete Account.
• Request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of your data by emailing info@stamport.com. We may ask you to verify that the account belongs to you.

8. Security

Stamport uses Firebase Authentication, HTTPS connections, and Firebase database and storage access rules to protect account data. Please use a strong password, keep your device updated, and contact us if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

9. Children's Privacy

Stamport is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in their country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact info@stamport.com so the account and its data can be deleted.

10. International Data Transfers

Firebase Cloud Functions used for Stamport's image processing run in Europe. Google and Apple may process other information in different countries under their service terms and data-transfer safeguards.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Stamport changes. When we do, we will update the date above and, when appropriate, provide a notice in the app or by email.
